Free to Senior Citizens age 55 and older, no matter where you live. ID and proof of address are required. Free to Michicard members. Our library is a member of the Michicard program. If you live elsewhere in Michigan and have a membership with another library that participates in the Michicard program and are in good standing with your home library, you are welcome to get a free membership at the McKay Library. A driver's license and library card (with Michicard status) are required.

**Note to our hometown patrons. If you are a member in good standing, ask for a Michicard sticker for your library card. This will open the doors to a long list of other Michigan libraries for you and your family.

Non-residents are required to pay a $15.00 annual membership fee. ID and proof of address are required.

Check-out Information

All books, magazines, audio materials, and CDs have a loan period of 4 weeks. You are welcome to reserve a title if it's not on the shelf. Renewals are allowed and can be done over the phone, as long as no one is waiting for the title.
Movies have a loan period of 1 week. We do charge a $.50 rental fee for each title. Some of our DVD sets have a higher cost, but also a longer loan period.

Interlibrary Loans

The Augusta Library is now a participating member in MeLCat, a statewide library resource sharing system.  Patrons in good standing can now request to borrow materials from other libraries right from their home computers.  The system is simple to use!  Go to  http://elibrary.mel.org/search  to begin searching.  Of course, we are happy to do the searching for you if you'd like.  Just give us a call at the library and we can make the request from here.

Photocopies

A B&W copy machine is available for public use. Cost is $.15 a page. Color copies can be made for $.50 each - inquire at the desk.

Laminating

Library staff have access to two laminating machines of limited size. Cost varies depending on the type of machine used.

Public Computers

There are four terminals available for public use. Sessions are limited to 1 hour. Patrons are allowed to reserve a time.  Children 17 and under must have written permission from a parent or guardian to use the internet.  Please see our internet policies.
